Children make their peers aware on International Day for their rights

Pejë, Gjakovë, Ferizaj, Mitrovicë, 20 November – Under the auspices of marking the International Children’s day, the nongovernmental organization Syri i Vizionit with the support of Save the Children held many activities in primary schools of “Ramiz Sadiku” and “Xhemail Kada” in Pejë, “Zekeria Rexha” and “Mustafa Bakia” in Gjakovë, “Bedri Gjinaj” and “Andon Zako Çajupi” in Mitrovicë, as well in the primary schools of “Jeronim De Rada” and “Tefik Çanga” in Ferizaj.

Child group as new trainers held speeches on the International Convention on the Rights of the Child for their peers in all classrooms of VI to IX grade, making these children aware of their right guaranteed with the International Convention. Apart of the speeches in classrooms, these children also distributed the brochure with content from the Convention to all children of these schools.
This activity was implemented as part of the “Together 4 Children Rights- Child protection and Child Right Governance” project that is being implemented by the nongovernmental organization “Syri i Vizionit” from Pejë, with the support of Save the Children International and SIDA. It aims to protect children and reinforce child rights mechanisms.
