Public meeting for “Green and innovative business plans” 2014

Peja April 14- In the context of regional competition for "Green and innovative business plans 2014’’ , nongovernmental organization FIQ in partnership with the Syri i Vizionit organized a public meeting with young people and nongovernmental organizations of municipalities of the region of Peja to provide all stakeholders the opportunity to participate in this contest, to be informed about the criteria for application, method of application and benefits from participation in this contest.

This project aims to identify new entrepreneurs in Kosovo which provides initial financial support in the amount of 10.000 USD from donors and philanthropists for their business ideas.

The main objective of this project is the identification and support of business plans that have high potential for success, significantly affect the social, environmental and economic performance of a particular community, or a wider group of community, with the ultimate goal realization of a sustainable business in the country.

One of the greatest challenges for today’s economies remains finding new forms of organization and commitment of local communities to ensure sustainable development, reduction of negative impact on the environment realizing a more equitable distribution of benefits.

In this context, it is deemed that the green ideas can play a positive role in motivation, identification and mobilization of resources in order to strategically address issues relating to the renewal of traditional ways of production and the development of local markets.

The meeting was held in the Assembly Hall in Peja, where young people of the municipality of Peja have taken part, who have expressed different ideas to apply as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations operating in the municipality of Peja.
