Violence prevention and reference in institutions of pre-university education

Peja, 07 May- Nongovernmental organization "Syri i Vizionit" has  held a workshop with the council board of Elementary and low Secondary School in Peja Ramiz Sadiku, where they learned about the Protocol for the violence prevention and referral in institutions of pre-university. This protocol was developed by the Office for Good Governance, Human Rights, Equal Opportunities and Non-Discrimination Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Office. The protocol defines obligations, clarifies roles of institutions and procedures for the prevention, identification, data collection, referral, treatment, report of the violence against children on the  institutions of pre-university education. It also reinforces multidisciplinary and interagency cooperation to protect the rights of children and to protect children from violence.
This framework was organized in the framework  of the program "Together 4 children rights-Child Protection", and in partnership with Save the Children, which aims to develop a system for monitoring and reporting on violence against children, creating favorable policies for improving the protection of children in Kosovo that are compatible with the Convention on the Rights of Children and EU standards.
This project is being implemented in ten elementary and low secondary schools in five municipalities of Kosovo in Prishtina, Peja, Gjakova, Ferizaj and Mitrovica. Beneficiaries of this project are students, their parents and teachers of those schools and responsible institutions for the protection and respect of the rights of children.
