Institutions are ready to increase safety of children in Peja

Peja, 08 May- Non-governmental organization "Eye of Vision" held a meeting with local institutions for children's rights and safety in elementary and low secondary schools. In this meeting was discussed the carry of cold steels and firearms in schools by children (pupils) as well as to prevent the presence of children (pupils) or unauthorized persons on school grounds and inside the building. These concerns have emerged from the research that was done by the children (pupils) of elementary and low secondary schools Xhemail Kada and  Ramiz Sadiku  with their peers. The research of children was done  within the project "Together 4 children rights - Child Protection" that  Eye of Vision in partnership  with Save the Children are implemented  in five municipalities of Kosovo, namely in ten elementary  and low secondary schools.
The participants in this meeting have pledged to increase the coordination of joint action and thanked Eye Vision and Save the Children is offering assistance in developing a joint action plan. According to them, it is the last moment and very urgent moment  that institutions should act to do much more to increase the safety of children within and outside the school buildings.
The draft plan of this meeting will be sent to all institutions responsible for children's rights, including the Department of Education and Health, Center for Social Work, Probation Service, the Kosovo Police, Family Medicine Center, coordinator for rights children, Court and Prosecutor, municipal Council community safety, civil society and the media, since this action plan provides the necessitate involvement of all these stakeholders in enhancing the security  of children in Peja.
