Phenomenon of school drop-out by community members discussed

November 29, 2019-Pejë: In the framework of “Prospect 3” project, Syri i Vizionit organized a roundtable discussion on the drop-outs as a frequent phenomenon among Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali communities in locations where this project is being implemented.

This roundtable discussion was attended by officials from the Department of Education, school drop-out prevention teams from “Xhemail Kada" Pejë and “7 Shtatori" Vitomiricë schools, parents and community students.

During the meeting, problems of both schools that lead to non-regular attendance or even drop-out were presented, and at the same time from this roundtable we came up with measures and decisions that will be taken in the future to tackle on the identified issues.

The “Prospect 3” project aims to raise awareness and integrate Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali communities into the right to education, health and employment. It is implemented by Syri i Vizionit organization and KFOS, while it is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Karl Kübel Stiftung für Kind und Familie (KKS).
