OPEN CALL – for participants in mobility and training activities for young promoters

20.07.2018
Syri i Vizioni (SiV) invites all interested and motivated young people who live in Peja, Gjakovë and Prizren to apply for participation in the mobility and training program for young promoters.

Junior promoters (also known as greeters) are volunteers who welcome guests to their city or region and show them around free of charge as they would their friends or family. This is a form of social tourism: residents participate in the guests’ activities and guests have the opportunity to see the local life of the visited country.

For the mobility and training program
The mobility and training program is implemented within the project “Young Promoters – Improving Understanding, Creating Intercultural Competences” with funds from RYCO – Regional Youth Cooperation Office. It is implemented by NSHC in partnership with Syri i Vizioni and the Association of English language teachers and students – SOL.

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to reconciliation in the Western Balkans region through increasing youth mobility, activism and cooperation. Specifically, the project aims to improve intercultural dialogue and understanding in the region and promote intercultural competences as a means of improving youth activism and youth employment. Therefore, a mixed group of 20 young people (10 from Novi Sad, Apatini, Kula, Surdulica and Vladicin Hani and 10 from Peja, Gjakova and Prizren) will be selected for participation.
Mobility and training activities will be held in two parts:
– The first part will last 3 days and will be held in October 2018 in Pejë, with visits to Gjakovë and Prizren.
– The second part will last 3 days and will be held in November 2108 in Šabac, with a visit to Novi Sad.
English will be the main language that will be used throughout the activity.
Training, travel, accommodation, food and beverage expenses will be fully covered by the project.

Selection criteria
Eligible participants must be 18 – 30 years old, with sufficient English language skills to attend the training. Preference will be given to highly motivated individuals in travel, cross-cultural learning, meeting peers from the region and regional exchange. During the selection, attention will be paid to equal gender representation. Preference will be given to young people from the most excluded groups.
