Gjilan-April 30 – The first training was held with the children of the primary and lower secondary school “Thimi Mitko” in Gjilan, with the aim of making them aware of the forms of violence and the methodology of preventing and addressing violence in the mechanisms that the school has for the protection of children from violence.
\nThe children present in this training, apart from mechanisms at school, did not know that they can also address violence in institutions or mechanisms outside the school, since they were not provided with information about other institutions outside the school facility where they can report cases of violence.<\/p>\n

They have shown different examples of violence that happened in their school among their peers, and in some cases even by some teachers, for which they had previously complained to the class teacher and the school director.
\nThe children have expressed that this training has provided them with a lot of information and opportunities to turn to other institutions in the future for the violence that occurs in their school, where they or their peers may be victims.<\/p>\n

Training to raise children’s awareness of the prevention of violence and its forms will increase children’s awareness and their courage to report cases of violence that occur within the school, thus creating a safer environment for them in .
\nThe training was held within the framework of “Together 4 children rights – Child Protection”, which is being implemented by the Non-Governmental Organization “Syri i Vizioni” from Peja, in partnership with the organization Save the Children.<\/p>\n

The project aims to help children, schools, various child protection organizations, and responsible institutions at the local and central level to transform schools into safe places for children and help them create and strengthen of child protection mechanisms.<\/p>\n

The project is implemented in seven municipalities of Kosovo, namely in fourteen lower secondary schools: “Ramiz Sadiku” and “Xhemail Kada” in Pej\u00eb, “Mustafa Bakia” and “Zekeria Rexha” in Gjakov\u00eb, “Tefik \u00c7anga” and “Jeronim De Rada” in Ferizaj, “Bedri Gjina” and “Andon Zako \u00c7ajupi” in Mitrovica, “Thimi Mitko” and “Selami Hallaqi” in Gjilan, “Aziz Tolaj” and “Ibrahim Fehmiu” in Prizren as well as in the schools “Naim Frash\u00ebri” and ” Ismail Qemali” in Pristina.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
