Istog, November 21 – On Friday in Istog, a meeting was held in which representatives of judicial institutions, local government and community representatives in local communities discussed the problems related to properties. The problems that have been accumulated in this sector for decades, the not infrequently complicated issues of inheritance, not carrying the relevant documentation and the malfunctioning of the institutions in different periods, according to the participants, are problems that must be addressed and must be chosen based on the existing laws.
Leaders from the Municipality of Istog, public services with cadastre, agriculture and administration, representatives of the Basic Court, notaries, lawyers and jurists presented the legislation to the citizens and presented the needs of timely transfer of relevant documentation. The representatives from the local communities of the municipality have said that the problems in the community are related to the non-carrying of inheritance – sometimes even in several generations, the non-registration of sales and purchases, undivided, confiscated lands and other issues of undetermined ownership, for which they have asked and received the correct answer.
The meeting was organized by the Eye of the Vision organization within the “Protect Your Property” project, which is financially supported by USAID/ATRC and aims to raise the awareness of citizens and institutions on the importance of solving property issues.
