Open call for new enterprises and start-ups for young people and women

This call is made by “SEED Third Phase Kosovo – Support for the Development of Education and Employment in Kosovo”, a project supported by the Austrian Development Agency implemented by the NGO Syri i Vizioni and Volkshilfe Solidarität. The aim of this call is to contribute to the development of new enterprises established within the last three years and the last three months (November 1, 2018 to September 1, 2021) as well as the establishment of new enterprises (start-up) which aim improve employment and self-employment opportunities for young people (15-29 years old) and women.

The SEED Phase Three Kosovo project started in January 2020 and it includes a wide range of activities that will be implemented over a three-year period.

The present appeal consists of two parts. Proposals within this call can be submitted in the following two areas:

Part 1: Further development of new enterprises established in Peja, Gjakova and Prizren during the last three years and the last three months (November 1, 2018 to September 1, 2021) by raising production capacities to increase employment for young people 15 – 29 years old and women at least 50% for at least 6 months.

Part 2: Supporting the establishment of new innovative enterprises (start-ups) of young people aged 15-29 and women in Pejë, Gjakovë and Prizren to support their self-employment

The total indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is 30,000.00 euros. The Contracting Authority reserves the right not to award all funds made available.

The total value per grant is approx. 2500 euros and it consists of:

1) 2,250 euros in material/equipment (machines, devices, equipment, consumables, furniture and other items necessary for starting and developing an individual business) and
2) approx. 250 EUR for a training mobility (training voucher, SiV will cover all the costs of participation of the grant winners in the respective Vocational Training Centers in Pejë, Gjakovë and Prizren.)

Participation in the training is mandatory for grant recipients. The trainings are carried out in cooperation with the Vocational Training Centers in Pejë, Gjakovë and Prizren, and the SEED Step III program emphasizes that the beneficiaries of the grants are obliged to follow a training for entrepreneurship or related professions in a municipality other than their own. Grants will be allocated proportionally to each municipality. A maximum of 4 grants will be allocated to the municipalities – Pejë, Gjakovë and Prizren.

SEED Kosova reserves the possibility not to share all the funds made available in case the proposed actions do not meet the selection criteria.
