COMMUNICATIONS: INAUGURATION OF TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN ISTOG

Syri i Vizioni in cooperation with the Municipality of Istog and the Office of the European Union in Kosovo inaugurated the activities carried out within the project for “Development of Istog”. This project’s main objective is to strengthen and promote local economic development with a focus on the growth and development of competitiveness and the achievement of the potential of businesses, including the generation of employment. In the framework of the project, a series of activities were carried out, such as infrastructure for tourism, support for businesses and farmers, as well as raising the capacities of development partners in Istog and the surrounding area.
Today were inaugurated: Pedestrian Bridge at Burimi Drini, Center for Information and Development of Tourism, Outdoor Amphitheater, Bike Paths and Recreational Sports Walking, Tourist Signage including Promotion of Products from Local Businesses and Development Grant beneficiaries. A rich cultural program, acts and artworks were presented followed by a cocktail party for the participants. The Mayor of Istog, Mr. Haki Rugova, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, the head of the European Union Office in Kosovo Mr. Samuel Žbogar as well as the executive director of “Syri i Vizioni” Mr. Veto Mujaj.
Mr. Žbogar said that this is good news for Istog. “This is an example of our assistance for the economic development of Kosovo. Through this project, the EU has simultaneously supported the business and agritourism of Istog for economic development and the creation of new jobs. Tourism and agribusiness are opportunities for the development of Istog, while the attraction of new visitors will positively affect the creation of new jobs as well as local economic development. The European Union will continue to support Kosovo’s priorities such as economic development and employment.”
The Mayor of the Municipality of Istog Mr. Haki Rugova said that this is a creative project and a concrete step for the development of business, tourism and agriculture in Istog. He emphasizes that the Municipality will always be open to cooperate and advance ideas and projects for the benefit of the development of Istog. I thank the European Union for its support “I am proud of this project and the citizens of the Municipality of Istog are proud, as they say it again and again” Prime Minister Mustafa said the citizens of Kosovo and neighboring countries should visit Istog and Kosovo. “This project highlights the miracles that Kosovo has, the miracles of very hardworking people who have used the means of this project for the development of their municipality. The project highlights many values, that’s why I invite all citizens to visit it,” he said. The executive director of the Eye of Vision organization, Mr. Veton Mujaj, thanked all the participants. “Eye of Vision has already implemented over 150 projects and our dynamic team will continue to support youth employment, empowering businesses and farmers in order to help generate jobs and create more opportunities and hope for all” This project aims to increase the tourist offer, promote and support the development of Istog. The infrastructure works and the promotion of this tourist area are aimed at increasing the number of tourists, economic development, strengthening local businesses and the revitalization of this entire tourist area. .
