The non-governmental organization “Syri i Vizioni”, through direct work and numerous trainings, is strengthening the role of local community leaders in several localities in five municipalities of the Dukagjin plain: Pejë, Istog, Klinë, Deçan and Rahovec. Since April of this year, professional trainings are being held in each of the municipalities, in the field of advocacy and project proposals. In each municipality, a local community consisting of 5-13 villages has been selected, which serve as a test or pilot project in the work of SiV for the empowerment of local community leaders and their active role in decision-making processes, at the local level and in the central one.
This program that Syri i Vizioni is implementing in these municipalities is supported by the organization OLOF Plame Center from Sweden. In the framework of this project, work will also be done on strengthening civil society, active non-governmental organizations and informal groups in different areas, which will be offered professional training.
In the framework of this project, an office has been opened that will offer help to various interest groups to access various public services and be part of decision-making institutions, as well as a website has been created that will present the achievements and the problems faced by the residents of these municipalities where the project is being implemented.
