Press release

Pristina, December 20 – The non-governmental organization Syri i Vizioni from Peja in partnership with the organization Save the Children, today held the national conference “Involvement of children in decision-making”.

In this conference, the report of the results was presented, as well as the evaluation report on the support and support of children in Kosovo, as well as the support of the municipal assemblies of children in Kosovo, was discussed.
“Our goal has been to convey the message to institutions and the general public about discrimination and non-inclusion of children in decision-making. We think that children should be more involved in qualitative decision-making in Kosovo, that’s why we are concentrating on strengthening the mechanisms for children to raise their voice and strengthen their role in decision-making. Our activity will continue with the monitoring and publication of cases of non-implementation of children’s rights in Kosovo,” says Vlora Latifi, project coordinator from the NGO Syri i Vizionit.

The Director of the Center for Social Work in Prishtina, Vehbi Mujku, has said that “Institutions must do more and be more responsible in terms of involving children in decision-making and creating opportunities and conditions for children to enjoy the rights they are entitled to, and for this we are all responsible”.

This conference was realized within the project “Governance with children’s rights” which is being implemented by the partner organizations “Eye of Vision” and “Save the Children Kosovo”, which for years within this project have been supporting the empowerment of the role of children in decision-making processes, strengthening the role of the children’s municipal assemblies of the municipalities of Pristina, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Mitrovica, Gjakovë, Klinë and Pejë.
