Peja, June 03- Representatives of the institutions dealing with property in the Municipality of Peja have discussed in a round table the problems that have arisen in the meetings with the citizens, related to ownership and inheritance issues. The findings that came out in the meetings held with citizens, leaders and representatives of villages and neighborhoods in the municipalities of Pejë, Klinë, Deçan and Istog were discussed at the table, addressing them and in the form of recommendations for the relevant institutions. At the same time, representatives and leaders from the Basic Court of Peja, the Basic Prosecutor’s Office of Peja, the Kosovo Police, the Notary, the Municipal Assembly, the Directorate of Cadastre, the Directorate of Property Affairs, the Legal Office of the Municipality of Peja, the Directorate of Administration – municipal civil service, OSCE, The mediation service in Peja, the free legal aid service and lawyers from Peja have discussed among themselves for better coordination of work and avoiding cases of waiting for citizens, providing the best services and facilitating each other’s work in the service of improving the services provided.
The participants at the table agreed that more work should be done on raising awareness among citizens, as there are many problems in this sector, and they must be solved with the joint commitment of all actors.
The table was the closing activity in the “Protect Your Property” project, which Eye of Vision implemented with financial support from USAID/ATRC.
