Peja and Shabaci exchange experience for professional education

Pejë – June 19 – A delegation from the city of Shabac from Serbia headed by the mayor Nebojsha Zelenović and the Speaker of the Assembly Nemanja Pajić stayed on a two-day visit to Pejë in the framework of the project “Support to Education and Employment Development – SEED” which is financed from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
Koha ditore has written that this is a joint project in the three countries of the region, Kosovo, Albania and Serbia, to contribute to employment, reduce poverty and influence economic and social development in these three countries.
The delegation visited the Professional Training Center of Peja and the cultural heritage in the village of Gorazhdec in Peja where the Serbian community resides.
“This project is important because we exchange our experiences. I have seen the professional training centers in Peja and we should have a similar one in Shabac. We have a center there, but this one in Peja is very practical, because in a short time it trains people in the practical part of the profession,” Zelenovic told the newspaper “Koha Ditore”.
The municipalities of Peja and Shabac have started to communicate and this is the first step of cooperation, which will be followed by the second step when they bring businesses with them. “If this happens, then there will be no more borders and who knows how many people will benefit from this,” said Zelenovic.
Besim Avdimetaj, director of DKA Pejë who accompanied Zelenović, said that this is the third meeting and that this visit is a positive opportunity.
“This is a return visit as we have been there twice last year in April to see the vocational education and labor market scheme there. WE are looking at the possibility of establishing cooperation in the field of agriculture as we hope to take seedlings from the achievement and distribute them to farmers” said Avdimetaj.
