Study visit, exchange of good practices for increasing citizens’ participation in decision-making

Pejë, 30 – 01 June – The study visit was carried out with the aim of exchanging experiences and best practices, within the program for increasing the participation of citizens in decision-making, promoting active citizenship in the region. During the study visit to Peja, there were representatives of partner organizations from Serbia and Albania, representatives of citizen groups, while the host group was the Eye of Vision organization with representatives of the local councils of the municipality of Peja, representatives of local institutions together with the chairman of the Municipal Assembly. of Peja and the director of the Administration of this municipality, also representatives of women’s groups and assembly women.

For three days in a row, representatives from Serbia and Albania have held meetings and joint conversations with these groups and representatives to see closely how the citizens engage in fulfilling their demands and needs that they face. Also, this visit served for the participants from these two countries to get good practices of cooperation between citizens and local institutions, civil society and other interest groups.

The visit was carried out within the program “Strengthening the role of civil society to initiate the involvement of citizens in decision-making processes”, supported by Olof Palme International Center and supported by SIDA.
