The Non-Governmental Organization Syri i Vizioni, in partnership with the organization Save the Children, have published the monitoring report of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, by the children themselves with the title “Perceptions of students, parents and officials about the right to education, bullying and discrimination in schools”.

The report includes three points of implementation of the International Convention on Children’s Rights: “Right to Education”, Harassment” and “Non-discrimination”, although it was found that in each of them there were violations and not enough was done by the institutions local.
The report also highlighted that there is no proper coordination of institutions to improve the situation of children’s rights, especially in the field of the right to education, prevention of harassment and non-discrimination.

Present at the meeting, where the report was published, were the Directorate of Education, the Kosovo Police, the Basic Court-juvenile unit, representatives of the Ombudsperson at the local and central level, the Center for Social Work, the municipal coordinator for children’s rights , the center of family medicine, directors of some schools, civil society, parents, students, teachers, psychologists, other institutions responsible for the protection of children’s rights and the media.
All actors gathered at this table to discuss the security situation agreed that more should be done in order to strengthen the existing mechanisms to increase the level of security in schools.
