The workshop with municipalities on the Child Protection Law is held

Bogë, October 24-25 – Eye of Vision in Save and Children partners are holding a workshop with municipal institutions regarding the child protection law project, this basic law for the protection of children in Kosovo. This workshop has enabled the municipalities to be involved in the preliminary phase of finalizing the law, so that the local level can give their recommendations based on the professional, human, logistical and financial capacities that they have or will need in the future, in order to have a practical and easy law applicable in the field.

The municipal officials have congratulated the Eye of Vision and Save the Children organizations for giving them more time to suggest that they too be involved in the drafting and finalization of this law, as they will be important actors in its implementation. on the ground. The municipalities have expressed their disappointment with their lack of involvement from the central level during the drafting of this law and according to them, this lack of involvement means that in the future it will be a law that is difficult to apply in practice, since they do not know the situation and possibilities well at the local level and delegate powers and responsibilities without budgetary follow-up and an increase in human and logistical resources.

Included in this workshop are the directors for health and social welfare and the centers for social work from the seven largest municipalities of Kosovo. This workshop is being held in the framework of the program “Together for the rights and protection of children”, which Eye of Vision in partnership with Save the Children is implementing in the municipalities of Pejë, Prishtina, Prizren, Gjakovë, Gjilan, Ferizaj and Mitrovica. .
