Gjilan -September 16- The non-governmental organization “Syri i Vizioni” within the project “Together 4 children rigts- Child Protection”, supported by Save the Children, has held the workshop for the drafting of the code of conduct with the management councils of the primary and secondary schools of low “Selami Hallaqi” and “Thimi Mitko” in Gjilan.

The councils of both schools have welcomed the initiative of drafting the code of conduct for their schools and have described it as something very necessary for these schools, as well as appreciated the work being done by the NGO Syri i Vizioni and Save the Children. They have appreciated this initiative as a help for their school, since this code is about establishing some internal rules that the school should have in the code of conduct with the rights and responsibilities of the students as well as prohibited actions for children and teachers.

In addition to the code of conduct, the students of these schools were also given training in the field of preventing and addressing violence and harassment, thus influencing the increase of children’s awareness of these phenomena.

The project “Together 4 children rights- Child protection” aims to develop a system for monitoring and reporting violence against children, creating favorable policies for improving the protection of children in Kosovo that are in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and EU standards.

This project is being implemented in ten primary and lower secondary schools in five municipalities of Kosovo: in Pristina “Naim Frasheri” and “Ismail Qemali”; in Peja “Ramiz Sadiku” and “Xhemail Kada”; in Gjakovë “Mustafa Bakia” and “Zekeria Rexha”; in Ferizaj “Tefik Çanga” and “Jeronim De Rada”, and in Mitrovica in the schools “Bedri Gjina” and Andon Zako Çajupi”, in the schools “Aziz Tola” and “Ibrahim Fehmiu” in Prizren as well as in the schools “Thimi Mitko” and “Salami Hallaqi” in Gjilan.
