Informative sessions with Pejë school directors regarding implementation of Protocol on reporting of violence in schools

25.04.2019

2424 April - Syri i Vizionit in partnership with Save the Children held informative sessions with school directors regarding implementation and importance of the Government Protocol on Prevention and Referral of Violence in Pre-University Institutions, with particular emphasis on reporting of cases in the Education Management Information System - EMIS.

This session was held in cooperation with the Directorate of Education and the Ministry of Education, whereby school directors were asked once again to treat cases of violence according to this Protocol and refer them to EMIS, as they are also obliged to do so.

These informative sessions with school directors are being carried out to increase the responsibility of schools in handling and reporting of cases, as required by the protocol, since according to the statistics that MEST possesses, so far, at the state level, only 12 cases have been reported in the system, which are extremely little compared with cases that happened and statistics that the Police and other institutions hold.

Similar sessions will also be held in the municipalities of Klina, Gjakova, Prizren and Gjilan. These sessions are held in the framework of the thematic program in the field of child protection and child rights governance “Our Future Obligation - Child Protection and the Rights of the Child” which is implemented by Syri i Vizionit organization, in partnership with Save the Children – Kosovo Office.
