The ten-day children’s camp “All in school for a better future” is concluded

Pejë, July 20- The closing ceremony of the ten-day camp for children “All in school for a better future” was held in the neighborhood “7 Shtatori”, which was implemented by the non-governmental organization “7 Shtatori” in partnership with the NGO “Syri”. of Vision”,

The purpose of this camp was the socialization and association of the children of the Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali committee with the children of the Albanian community, increasing awareness of the importance of education and the return to school of children who have already left school.

The camp has provided opportunities for children who have a difficult economic situation in their families, especially those from the Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali communities, to take part in free and educational activities during the summer holidays and to socialize with other children.

Throughout these days, the children have created various artistic works, through which they demand respect for their rights, the right to education, non-discrimination, and to be equal in society, all of which are expressed through their drawings that have been exhibited at the closing ceremony.
Present at this meeting, in addition to the children, parents and implementing organizations “7 September” and “Syri i Vizioni” were also from “Terre de Homes” as financial supporters of this camp, the Municipality of Peja and the OSCE, who congratulated the organizations for the realism of this camp and the work they have done and are doing for children.

“On behalf of the mayor of Peja and my office, I congratulate you for the tireless work you did with these children, who are in great need of having such activities to socialize with each other and to continue the learning process as it is very important for them and for our society”, said the official for gender equality and human rights in the municipality of Peja, Sebahate Qorkadiu.

On the other hand, Shasimete Selimaj, director of the organization “7 Shtatori”, in addition to thanking those who helped in the implementation of this camp, said that in the future this camp should be traditional in this area of ​​the city, because these children are in great need of such a thing. She requested that the municipal institutions in the future should take the responsibility to organize such a camp every year together with the local organizations.

The representative of the organization “Terre de Homes”, Naim Bilalli, agreed with this, who said that next year the municipality should take responsibility to support this camp and support local organizations that work directly with the community, specifically with children. .

Naser Lajqi from the NGO Syri i Vizioni has spoken about the awareness of the parents of these children about the importance of education or schooling of children, so that these children or even other children who are not in this camp today, do not abandon education, because it is wealth most precious thing they can have in life. He also appreciated the importance of offering activities for children, who do not have the opportunity to go somewhere for summer vacation with their families, especially those of the Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali communities.

Over 80 children were involved in this camp, and seven animators who worked with them. At the end of the ceremony, the children’s works were exhibited and a joint cocktail was organized with all those present.
