Prishtina, September 29- The next training was held for the children of the “Ismail Qemali” lower secondary school in Prishtina, in which the children were trained on ways to address violence in cases when they or their peers are victims of violence in school or family. Besides the ways of addressing violence, children are also taught about the existing mechanisms in school and outside it where they can be directed to protect themselves from any kind of violence.
In this training, the children discussed several cases of violence that they indicated happened between their peers, from parents and teachers, but also against teachers. They have pledged that they will not remain silent in addressing violence and other incidents that have occurred or may occur in the future in their school. Also, they have said that as children they can be very powerful in preventing the presence of violence and increase more safety in the school, if they address this phenomenon and other phenomena in time.
In addition to the children in this training, there were also representatives of the teachers of this school who are part of the school’s governing council, who have encouraged the children not to remain silent when they or their peers are victims of any violence or when their safety and rights are violated. theirs. They have pledged that they will always be supporters of children so that their rights are respected and they are an active part of decision-making at school.

This training was held within the framework of the “Child Protection” program, which the organization Syri i Vizioni in partnership with Save the Children is carrying out in five municipalities of Kosovo, including the municipality of Pristina, through work and direct activities with children and management of primary and lower secondary schools “Naim Frasheri” and “Ismail Qemali” as well as with the institutions responsible for the rights and protection of children.
