April 24- Syri i Vizioni in partnership with Save the Children held an informational meeting with school principals on the implementation and importance of the Government Protocol for the prevention and referral of violence in pre-university institutions, with special emphasis on the reporting of cases in the Management System of Information in Education – SMIA.
This meeting was held in cooperation with the Directorate of Education and the Ministry of Education, in which case it was requested once again from the principals of the schools that the cases of violence are handled according to this Protocol and referred to SMIA, as they are obliged to do.
These informational meetings with school principals are being held with the aim of increasing the responsibility of schools in the handling and reporting of cases, as required by the protocol, since according to the statistics possessed by MEST, so far, at the state level, only 12 cases have been reported in the system, which are extremely few compared to the cases that have occurred and the statistics that the police and other institutions have.
Similar meetings will be held in the municipality of Klina, Gjakova, Prizren and Gjilan. They are held within the framework of the thematic program in the field of child protection and governance with children’s rights “Our Obligation to the Future – Protection of Children and Governance of Children’s Rights” which is implemented by the Eye of Vision organization, in partnership with Save the Children – Office in Kosovo.
