Meeting on the topic “Prevention of domestic violence”

Klinë, September 18 – In support of the initiative of assembly women and the non-formal group of women in the commune of China, a meeting was held on the topic “Prevention of domestic violence”, which aimed to present the role of institutions, mechanisms and services that provide for cases of domestic violence at the local level. In addition to the assembly women, the official of the Office for Gender Equality and Human Rights, the Basic Court, the Unit against Domestic Violence, the Kosovo Police, the official of the Center for Work and Social Welfare, civil society, OSCE, were present at the meeting. media and women from rural areas.

During the meeting, the role, services as well as all the mechanisms where domestic violence should be addressed were discussed. It was also discussed about the problems that were presented during the work of the institutions and the women themselves from rural areas, and came up with recommendations that will be addressed to the institutions through the assembly women.

The meeting was organized within the initiative of the assembly women’s group and the informal women’s group in Klina, supported by the non-governmental organization Syri i Vizioni in partnership with the Olaf Palme International Center and SIDA.
