Pejë, May 18 – The organization “Syri i Vizioni” in partnership with “The Balkan Forum” and the Municipality of Istog held the Job Fair in Pejë, within the project “Empowerment and employment of young people, women and other vulnerable groups in five municipalities of Kosovo” which is financed by the European Union.

The purpose of the fair was to promote various businesses that offer employment opportunities for the target groups and to connect jobseekers with employers in the municipalities of Pejë, Istog, Klinë, Deçan and Junik. A similar fair will be held on Thursday, May 19, also in Istog.

More than 25 manufacturing businesses, factories, gastronomy, shopping centers, individual businesses and various organizations that deal with the sector of preparing staff for work and the labor market participated in this fair. They accepted over 50 job applications from fair visitors, mostly young people, but also women and people with disabilities.

Director for Social Welfare, Albulena Mujaj-Bajraktari said: “Peja and all municipalities need such programs and fairs that promote employment opportunities for women, youth and other groups. The municipality of Peja promises that it will always be a support arm for such programs as this one with the Eye of Vision”.

On the other hand, Veton Mujaj, Executive Director of the NGO “Syri i Vizioni” said that through this fair the aim is to connect employers with job seekers, especially from marginalized groups, women, young people, people with disabilities and minority communities who live in the five municipalities of the region of Peja. Besides thanking the municipalities for their support, he encouraged the visitors from secondary schools to see their future perspective and to orient their higher education towards the needs of the labor market.

“Many people from vulnerable groups who were not registered at the Employment Offices or did not have information about the role and importance of these Offices have already been registered and through these offices they have been enabled to continue their professional training at the Professional Training Centers , practical work, grants for businesses and grants for start-up social enterprises,” said Mujaj.
