Istog, September 21 – The non-governmental organization Syri i Vizioni from Peja, has held a symbolic ceremony for the distribution of school packages for students of the Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali communities in the locality of Serbobran. About 80 school packages with all the necessary tools for the learning process have started and are being distributed in the Municipality of Istog, in the locality of the village of Serbobran and Gurrakoc within the project “EU SIMRAES II” for students in the pre-primary class, in the primary school and lower secondary, in order to facilitate the education conditions for the members of these communities.
Present at the ceremony were representatives from the Directorate of Education in Istog, the director of the Serbobrani school, in which there are two learning centers, the Office of Communities in the Municipality of Istog, parents, students and the media.
This activity was organized within the project “EU Support for the Implementation of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Communities 2 – Education for Integration” (called EU SIMRAES 2), which is a three-year project, which has started to be implemented by Syri i Vizioni in partnership with KEC, in the Municipality of Istog and is financially supported by the European Union and KFOS.
