Pejë, November 20, 2024 – The Non-Governmental Organization “Syri i Vizionit”, on the occasion of the International Children’s Day, expresses its unwavering commitment to the protection, advancement and promotion of children’s rights in Kosovo. This day reminds us all of the importance of joint actions to build a better future for the new generations.
Although important steps have been made in improving the conditions for children in our country, challenges still remain concerning. Poverty, lack of equal access to education, health and social services, as well as negative phenomena such as abuse and neglect are problems that require immediate and coordinated action.
We, as a society, have an obligation to ensure that every child in Kosovo has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, healthy and supportive environment. On this occasion, “Syri i Vizionit” calls for: Strengthening Policies and Legislation – Improving and implementing laws for child protection and ensuring effective oversight mechanisms.
Investing in Education and Health – Ensuring equal conditions for every child, regardless of ethnic, economic or geographical background.
Raising Society Awareness – Increasing campaigns to educate parents and the community about children’s rights and well-being.
On this important day, we call on public institutions, the international community, civil society organizations and individuals to take concrete steps to ensure that no child in Kosovo is left behind.
Children are our present and future. Caring for them is our collective responsibility. Let us work together for a Kosovo where every child has the right and opportunity to live and dream freely.
With respect,
Syri i Vizionit
