Think Globally,
Act Locally

A meeting was held with the representatives of the villages and local communities of the Municipality of Klina in which the issues of property, inheritance and regulation of the proper documentation related to the property were discussed. The officials of the Municipality of Klina, the Court in Klina, the Chamber of Advocates and the Notary, in front of these representatives from the local communities, have responded to the concerns of the citizens and have explained the basics of the Kosovar legislation for property registration.
The main points in which the citizens have expressed interest have been the registration of properties in which the sale and purchase was made decades ago, disputed properties, easement rights, engagement of surveyor experts and payments for their services and others related to the transfer of thick ownership and unverified contracts. The representatives of the institutions have encouraged the citizens to choose such issues, since legal procedures enable the resolution of all types of disputes related to property. It has also been requested that the ownership issues receive the status of priority cases in the courts, as the delays in their treatment are too great.
The meeting was held within the project “Protect your property” which is financed by ATRC/USAID and aims to raise the awareness of citizens and institutions on the importance of solving property issues.
