Pejë, July 15 – Syri i Vizioni has started the “Entrepreneurship School”, in which more than 20 women from the municipalities of the Dukagjin region participate. Selected from politics, business and civil society, successful women who are active in the community and present a strong basis for change, the group of followers of the School of Entrepreneurship have attended the first workshop related to proactive governance, namely “inclusion of the gender perspective in policy-making and successful practices of gender equality”, with lecturer Luljeta Demolli from the Kosovar Center for Gender Studies.
The activity takes place within the Project for the support of women that Syri i Vizioni has been implementing since February in the municipalities of Pejë, Istog, Deçan and Junik with financial support from USAID/ATRC.
Similar workshops will be held in the next eight months, from one training per month on topics such as: Proactive Governance – Regional and International Good Practices; Political Communication – Proximity and Representation of Citizens’ Interests; Women in Business: Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Business Strategies and Plans, Managerial Skills; Innovation and Competitiveness; ‘Start-ups’ and Business Incubation; Qualitative Democracy and Women’s Contribution in the Fight Against Corruption; Development Policymaking and Successful Gender Equality Practices; Property rights of women.
In the framework of this project, thematic forums are also held with women assemblymen from these four municipalities, activities to exchange experiences and promote successful cases of women in the region, mentoring and counseling for women in their careers.
