July 23 – The children of the ROR monitoring group, together with the NGO Syri i Vizioni and Save the Children, have met the mayor of the municipality of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, and handed him the report “Our Reality” with requests to him to implement the recommendations. in the report for the municipality of Peja.
The children of the ROR group have asked the mayor to enable the participation of children in decision-making and for them to be participants when planning policies that affect the interest of children, not only in the field of education, but in all fields.
The children have asked the mayor to provide free transportation to children traveling from rural areas, as this is causing many of them to drop out of school, they have also requested quality education and suitable conditions for children, as well as support to increase participation of children’s decision-making in schools and outside them.
Likewise, the representatives of the Eye of the Vision and Save the Children organizations, who have supported the strengthening and development of the monitoring group, have offered their support to municipal institutions in improving the position of children and governance with their rights.
On the other hand, the mayor of the municipality Mr. Muhaxheri congratulated the children for the work done and their willingness to monitor the implementation of the international convention on their rights, as well as the will they have to ask the institutions for their involvement in decision-making.
The mayor informs the children that the municipality of Peja has started to work on providing free transport for children who travel over 3 km, as well as to install the central heating system in all schools so that at the beginning of the school year the children have the opportunity to have better conditions good.
The mayor of the municipality has promised his support and the municipal institutions to improve the position of children, but at the same time he has asked the children of the ROR group and the SiV and SCi organizations to monitor and report on any injustice done to children at school. and abroad and that they will have the continuous support of him and the municipality of Peja.
