March 19 – The non-governmental organization “Syri i Vizioni” in partnership with the Kosovo Foundation for Civil Society (KCSF) held the table “Creation of Partnerships for Local Actions” in the municipality of Peja. The purpose of this table was to address and identify the problems in the public services and urbanism sector and the possibilities of joint actions in improving the current situation of public services and urbanism for a sustainable eco-tourism in the municipality of Peja.
Those present at this table said that many actions have been taken in these two sectors so that Peja has a more developed and sustainable eco-tourism, however, there is still a lot of work to be done to improve public services in all fields, as well as in the field of urbanism, transforming Peja into a city where there will be more space for pedestrians and cycling than for cars.
Also, it has been said that more investments are needed in different sectors, more stimulation for existing businesses and much more work to raise citizens’ awareness of the importance of the development of eco-tourism and the use of various natural and cultural resources. and public, as provided by law.
Those present at the meeting were the director of public services, the directorate of Urbanism, UN Habitat, the Regional Development Agency Peja office (AZHR), the Directorate for Economic Development, the Office of Tourism, civil society, businesses and other interest groups.
That everyone agreed that a joint action of Institutions, civil society and businesses is needed to have a better and sustainable economic development.
At the end of this meeting, some recommendations have emerged, which will be processed under a basic document to have joint action in exchanging experiences in these fields with the cities in the Czech Republic, to influence and act with different projects in the improvement of public services. and Urbanism for a sustainable Eco-tourism in the Municipality of Peja.
In addition to this table, a delegation from the Municipality of Peja will visit and exchange experiences with Czech municipalities and experts from this country, who will help in the development of eco-tourism in the municipality of Peja.
