Peja, December 10- Within the framework of the “Mismatch” project, a meeting was held with the principals of lower secondary schools in the Municipality of Peja dedicated to the subject of career guidance. With the principals from 26 schools and officials from the Directorate of Education, the state of implementation of this subject and the possible forms of starting its implementation were discussed. The participants in the meeting said that career orientation has recently been introduced in Kosovar education with several pilot schools, of which the “Asdreni” school in Peja is the only one that has implemented it. The directors of the schools have said that there are some difficulties in the beginning of its implementation, related to the lack of staff, the qualification of the staff, the lack of teaching materials, textbooks, etc. the possibility of organizing trainings for the staff in the primary schools of the Municipality was also discussed so that from next year the career guidance application will start, as it helps the students in the direction of the determination towards vocational schools and timely information about the advantages and disadvantages of the professions certain in relation to the market and their personal skills.
The “Mismatch” project, which is being carried out in Peja by the organization Syri i Vizioni with support from Solidar Suisse, aims to help adapt schools to the labor market and to create stable relationships between schools and business, which is important for the creation of cadres that will be better found in the labor market in Kosovo.
