Teachers from 20 primary schools in the Municipality of Peja have been certified for career guidance teaching. Their 40-hour training was organized by the NGO Syri i Vizioni with the support of Solidar Suisse and the Directorate of Education of the Municipality of Peja. In a ceremony held in Peja, certificates were distributed to the participants and the importance of including career guidance for students at the end of lower secondary education and before deciding on their future in secondary education was discussed. .
Apart from the trained teachers, the principals of their schools also participated in this ceremony. Besim Avdimetaj, municipal director of education, has assessed that with this training, teachers have received a new model to apply in their schools from the next school year.
The training of teachers is done by licensed trainers of the GIZ program “Five-step model for career guidance” and is done within the Mismatch project that SiV realizes with the support of Solidar Suisse and aims to connect vocational schools with the labor market.
