Bajram Morina opens a stand for the sale of organic vegetables from his fields
Bajram Morina, from the village of Rogovë, municipality of Gjakova, despite his disability, this has never prevented him from farming and growing vegetables, being a helper for the family’s income.
Bajrami is also one of the beneficiaries of the grant with an agricultural mechanism within the program “Women and persons with disabilities as agricultural entrepreneurs in Kosovo”.
Thanks to this grant, he has managed to create easier conditions for work as well as to grow several more hectares of planted vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes, cabbage, pumpkins, potatoes, watermelons, melons, etc. Now he has also started to bring his fresh products to the market by meeting the needs of the market and consumers with fresh local vegetables, where in addition to wholesale sales in many markets and shopping centers, he has recently opened a roadside stand highway Gjakovë-Prizren, in Xerxë.
Where many citizens who pass through this road stop and get fresh and organic vegetables to consume, and day by day the demands of buyers for Eid vegetables are increasing, which motivates even more to engage in agriculture, create new jobs for his family members and this also affects the best economic conditions for him and his family.
Today, Bajrami, is also a motivating example for many young men and women who are disabled, and not only, but for all the citizens of the municipality of Gjakova who deal with agriculture.
The support for the development of personal capacities in the field of agriculture and with work tools was done within the project “Women and persons with disabilities as agricultural entrepreneurs in Kosovo”, implemented by Syri Vizionit, financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA ) with funds from the Austrian Development Cooperation and co-financed by Brot für die Welt.
