Pejë-01 teor 2013- The international organization Save the Children from Albania and Kosovo in cooperation with the organization “Syri i Vizonit” have organized a study visit to Pejë for the group of children “16+” from the cities of Durrës, Pukë, Elbasan and Dibër who work in monitoring and implementation of children’s rights in Albania.
The group of children “16+” accompanied by the staff of Save the Children in Albania and the one in Kosovo, have held a series of meetings for the exchange of experiences in different institutions in Pejë. Their visit started at the “Ramiz Sadiku” Primary School, where they were welcomed by the school staff and the student council, where they got to know the work the school has done and is doing in the implementation of children’s rights, where they exchanged experiences from both countries regarding the work done by the children themselves for their rights.
After the visit to this school, the delegation also visited the Non-Governmental Organization Syri i Vizioni, where they talked about the work that the Eye of Vision Organization has done and is doing in the protection of children’s rights, and the work that is being done in several elementary schools in Kosovo, which aims to strengthen mechanisms for children’s rights and monitor their rights in some schools in Kosovo.
The visit of the delegation from Albania continued in the municipal assembly of Peja, where they were welcomed by their peers, assembly children and human rights officials and the coordinator for children’s rights in the municipality of Peja.
In this meeting, the work and activity done by the institutions in Albania, namely Durrësi, Puka, Dibra and Elbasani, as well as the children themselves from the group for children’s rights from the “16+” group, were presented. They were also informed about the work done by the municipality of Peja in advancing the situation of children’s rights in this municipality, as well as the work done by the children’s assembly of the municipality of Peja in the promotion and protection of children’s rights.
The meeting of the delegation from Albania was concluded with a joint lunch organized by Save the Children Albania, the NGO Syri i Vizioni and the Municipality of Peja.
