Istog, September 12 – The non-governmental organization Syri i Vizioni has started supporting the initiative of assembly women and the informal group of young people, women and men in the municipality of Istog, which aims to empower and raise awareness among citizens about the equal right to of both sexes, in the joint property of the parents and in marriage, promoting the values ​​of gender equality in society.

Trainings are being held with the group of young people, women and men on the topic of property inheritance on a gender basis, and the promotion of the values ​​of gender equality in society. Also, during the trainings, the procedures for the initiation of inheritance and the existing legal mechanisms were discussed.

Also, in order to achieve the goal of the campaign for the promotion of gender equality in society and their awareness, brochures with information on their right to property and inheritance were printed.

This project aims to educate and raise the awareness of young people, women and men in rural and urban areas about their right to property and inheritance as well as initiating procedures based on legal rights, this project initiated by women themselves assemblyman in the municipality of Istog, which is supported by the NGO Syri i Vizioni, within the “Active Citizenship” program, financially supported by the Olaf Palme International Center and SIDA.
