Parents are made aware of the necessity of registering their children in school

Istog, July 01 – Within the SIMRAES II project, Syrii Vizionit held meetings with the parents of the two localities of the learning centers in Serbobran and Gurrakoc regarding the realization of the “Registration of children at school” campaign.

The meetings were aimed at raising the awareness of the Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali communities about the importance of enrolling their children in school and attending regular classes.

In addition to the important information about the necessity of enrolling children in school, the time limit and the necessary documents, the parents participating in the meeting were offered technical assistance by the project staff in the process of enrolling children in school as well as securing the documents.

The importance and support of learning centers with the “Homework Help” program was also discussed with these parents, where they were informed of the final success and achievements of the children.

In such meetings, conversations related to their social and economic difficulties cannot be avoided, which make it more difficult for them to commit to the children’s attendance at school.

These meetings with parents were organized within the project supported by the European Union “EU support for the implementation of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Communities 2 – Education for Integration (called EU SIMRAES II)”, which implemented by KFOS in partnership with seven partner organizations, among which is Eye of Vision of KEC in the municipality of Istog.
