Pink tomatoes from the farmer Zekije Sutaj in Cerrolluk, Istog, very popular in the local market

Istog, August 02, – The organic pink tomatoes cultivated by the female Zekije Sutaj from the village of Cerrollukë, municipality of Istog, have greatly increased the interest of consumers, for which there is a very high demand from shops and markets and vegetable sellers and citizens, not only in the municipality of Istog, but also from many municipalities of Kosovo.
Thanks to the grant received from the program “Women and persons with disabilities as agricultural entrepreneurs in Kosovo”, implemented by Syri Vizionit, financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with the funds of the Austrian Development Cooperation and co-financed by Brot für die Welt, this farmer has managed to be present in the market a month earlier this year and the amount of production to be three times larger compared to previous years.
This was achieved thanks to the acquisition of a three-gold greenhouse, creating more favorable and safer conditions for the cultivation of pink tomatoes, a tomato much sought after by consumers in Kosovo, which has also been ensured by the market, where it has aroused a lot of interest. large from local businesses not only in Istog but also in many municipalities of Kosovo.
However, in addition to the supply of businesses, the sale is also offered to individuals who are citizens of many to visit the greenhouse of farmer Zekije to buy tomatoes “We have managed to triple the production, as well as bring it to the market almost every two months, and we are very satisfied with the demands of the market for our tomatoes, but we also have the interest of the citizens who come to the greenhouse and harvest the tomatoes themselves.

Farmer Zekije Sutaj has already registered her STARTUP business, where, in addition to engaging family members, she engages with seasonal workers during the harvest, she is also one of 28 other farmers, women and persons with disabilities from the municipalities of Pejë, Gjakovë, Istog and Rahovec, who have benefited from the program “Women and persons with disabilities as agricultural entrepreneurs in Kosovo”, implemented by Syri Vizionit, financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with the funds of the Austrian Development Cooperation and co-financed from Brot für die Welt.
