Peja, March 12 – The Non-Governmental Organization “Syri i Vizioni” in cooperation with the FOL Movement as members of the Coordinating Group for Kosovo’s membership in the international organization Partnership for Open Government held a public consultation in the municipality of Peja with the aim of preparing the National Action Plan 2014-2016.
Present at this public consultation were the chairman of the Municipal Assembly of Peja with several municipal councilors, the Economic Chamber, representatives from civil society and the media. In this public consultation, it was said that a lot of work should be done to improve employment reforms in each sector, education, health, administration, etc., as well as in the field of public procurement, and it was even requested to initiate the amendment of the Law on Local Self-Government and Law of procurement. With the completion of these two laws, functional and professional reforms will be created in each sector and this will increase the transparency and accountability of public institutions, increase the effectiveness of the anti-corruption fight and the use of technology for the improvement of public services.
This campaign of public consultations will continue in other municipalities of Kosovo with the aim of involving all interested parties in this process and also for the collection of proposals for concrete activities that would be included in the National Action Plan of the Republic of Kosovo.
