COMMUNICATIONS: 20 grants for the business community of NGOs and farmers in the Municipality of Istog
Istog, December 18, 2015- Within the project “For the Development of Istog” which is financed by the European Union Office in Kosovo and implemented by Syri i Vizioni in cooperation with the Municipality of Istog, 20 grants have been allocated to the business community, NGOs as well as business/farmer associations in the Municipality of Istog.
The Istog Local Development Grant aims to help businesses and other development agents to improve efficiency, increase competitiveness, sales and promotion at the regional and local level. Employment generation and local economic development are other important goals.
Expressing his gratitude to the donor for the support, the EU Office, Mr. Haki Rugova, Mayor of the Municipality, said “These grants are important and we are proving that we continue to be dedicated and committed to building a development environment with perspective .
The direct support for the private sector and the organizations that address the development is a concrete step for the development of the local economy and employment in Istog”. offers new opportunities for Istog. Interventions in infrastructure and support for the private sector strengthen local businesses and improve competition between them. The executive director of the non-governmental organization “Syri i Vizioni”, Veton Mujaj, thanked all the applicants, about 75 of them, who have competed with their ideas and congratulated the final winners.
He emphasized that “The grant for the development of Istog, as a priority, had the development of sustainable agriculture and tourism, the development of production capacities, the increase of the tourist offer, support for processing, the promotion of local products, etc”. we would like to support all 75 proposals. The best way and model for economic development and employment generation is through supporting businesses.”
This grant is part of the project Support for Agri-Tourism, Business and Infrastructure in the municipality of Istog, to increase and promote economic development and the creation of sustainable jobs for a better future.
The project envisages interventions in the infrastructure (which are under completion) such as: hiking trails, cycling trails as well as a connecting bridge between the mountains and the spring, the construction of an amphitheater near the spring, the opening of an Information and Tourism office in Istog , which will provide visitors with the appropriate information and services.
The main objective of the project is to empower and promote local economic development, with a focus on the growth and development of competitiveness and achieving the potential of local businesses and organizations in generating employment and local economic growth.
