Pristina, November 20 – The marking of November 20, the International Day of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, was marked in Kosovo through the session “Children lead the Assembly” in which the National Group for Monitoring Children’s Rights “Respect Our Rights” ( ROR) presented a Resolution with several requests which was approved by the votes of the children who were in the role of deputy in the session.
The Resolution also passed into the hands of the Chief Parliamentarian and the Prime Minister of Kosovo who welcomed this dedication to strengthening the implementation of children’s rights and received support that this Resolution will serve in the future as a reference for the care that the state must show for children.
Some of the issues that have been included: to make the repatriation of children as easy as possible, to have more advanced equality and protection for children in need, to have systematic health surveillance in order to prevent disorders and to do more for the home we live in a pretty big part of the day that is school.
The children’s monitoring group was established by the non-governmental organization “Syri i Vizioni” and “Save the Children” within the program “Governance with children’s rights – Monitoring of the Convention on Children’s Rights”.
