The Day of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is also marked by the Children’s Assembly of the Capital and that of Mitrovica.
November 20 – The Municipal Assembly of Children of the capital, within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, visited the SOS village where they carried out joint activities with the children who are in the SOS, where they had the opportunity to talk about the needs and demands of the SOS village and the children there. Also, as a sign of gratitude for the work that this Institution is doing, it has also donated a certificate of gratitude thanking them for their tireless work, care and well-being of their peers.
Also, the Municipal Assembly of Children in the municipality of Mitrovica has carried out activities, where they have carried out several activities such as information sessions and a drama in several primary and lower secondary schools of this municipality.
These activities from these two assemblies seek to stimulate institutional response to do more to improve the position of children’s rights in the municipalities of Prishtina and Mitrovica, as required by the international Convention and applicable legislation.
These activities were carried out in coordination with the coordinators for children’s rights within the framework of the thematic program for the protection and rights of the child “Our Duty for the Future – Child Protection and Child Rights Governance” for the Strengthening of Civil Society by Syri i Vizionit Organizations in partnership with Save the Children Kosova/o, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – Sida.
