The coalition of civil society organizations “Democracy in Action” has started mobilization for the November elections in Kosovo. Leaders of this coalition have started a series of meetings from Peja with the aim of mobilizing different sectors of society for a wider and more representative involvement in the election process. In separate meetings in Peja, the coalition met the media, non-governmental organizations and the women’s association, from the six municipalities of the Peja region. This year, the coalition of NGOs has started preparations in time so that the start of the campaign will find civil society activists ready for their role. “We want to have as much representation as possible, as many organizations as possible so that all those who want to be part of this process are involved,” said the leader of the coalition Ismet Kryeziu in the meeting with about 30 non-governmental organizations from the municipalities of the region. , which have expressed their willingness to be part of the engagement in election monitoring.
In the meeting, it was said that DV is committed to ensuring that every citizen is guaranteed participation in voting and fair counting of votes. In the meeting with the Peja media, it was requested by the media to work as much as possible on voter education, vote corruption with vote-seeking projects and the highest possible participation of women in the process.
Democracy in action this year will also have financial support from USAID and the accredited embassies in Pristina, while it will monitor the entire election campaign and election day with the commitment of 80 long-term monitors and 3500 daily observers.
