The Kosovar Institute for Research KIPRED and Syri i Zozoni have presented the barometer of the rule of law in Kosovo, which is realized in the framework of the project “Fulfillment of the requirements of the EU for good governance, for the further European integration of Kosovo”, which have started to implement these two organizations this year. The launch of the barometer and the presentation of the site and the report of the first phase was held at a press conference in Pristina.
In the presentation of the first findings that have been shown to the public, it is said that corruption and organized crime are the biggest problems of the rule of law. Based on the research done, 143 recommendations have been presented to the Kosovar institutions, of which 50 are related to the fight against corruption and organized crime, in order to fulfill the necessary criteria of the European Union for the visa liberalization process.
Also, the lack of communication between the central and local institutions is one of the reasons for the non-fulfillment of the visa liberalization criteria.
