Pejë, October 5, 2017 – Eye of the Vision held today the table with women assemblymen from the Municipal Assemblies of the municipalities of the region of Pejë, regarding the topic of parental leave, with which a contribution was made to the further promotion of this issue and to the opening of the debate on the opportunities and advantages it has for the family and society in Kosovo.
In the meeting, the findings from the research with citizens about parental leave, which was carried out by the volunteers of Syri i Vizioni and the women assemblymen of the municipalities of Pejë, Deçan, Istog and Junik, were presented regarding the perception that the citizens have regarding this issue, what it is for open to debate and recommendations have been issued, which in partnership with D4D will be addressed as part of the efforts that civil society is making but changes in this sector.
The activity was carried out as part of the initiative “Community actions to promote parental leave” within the project “Parental leave for gender equality”, which is implemented by Democracy for Development (D4D), financed by the Olof Palme International Center and supported by the Swedish Government .
