The Tree of the Future in Peja
Pejë, May 31, the Municipal Assembly of Children in Pejë, has carried out several activities to mark “June 1”, the international children’s day, where they first submitted the painting to the Director of Social Welfare, this painting created through hands with the motto “Hands and Vogla have high hopes”.
Jon Bytyqi, chairman of the Children’s Assembly, has asked the Director that this painting and this message remain located in one of the spaces of the Directorate where the facility of the Center for Social Work is also located.
The Director of Social Welfare, Albulena Mujaj-Bajraktaraj, has welcomed the children’s initiative where, in addition to congratulating them on June 1, she has pledged to work continuously on improving their well-being and rights. She has also promised that the painting will remain placed in the lobby of the facility.
Afterwards, the activities of the Children’s Assembly continued together with the Directorate for Social Welfare and the Eye of Vision and Save the Children Kosovo organizations in the “Ibrahim Rugova” peace park, where a tree named “Tree of the Future” was planted. .
Where, the tree was planted by the children of the Municipal Assembly together with children’s groups and organizations Handikos and the Center for Independent Living, where they placed messages with their wishes.
After planting the tree and placing the messages, the children were also met by the mayor of the municipality, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri, who congratulated the children on “1 Kershot”, saying that “this is the most beautiful tree and the best place for the message that this tree conveys.”
This activity was carried out within the framework of the thematic program for the protection and rights of the child “Our Obligation to the Future – Protection of Children and Governance of Children’s Rights” for the Strengthening of Civil Society by the Eye of Vision Organizations in partnership with Save the Children Kosovo, financed by the Swedish Agency for International Cooperation and Development – Sida.
